The Outreach Specialist will work alongside the pharmacist team assisting the pharmacist in making these recommendations to providers. Duties include faxing recommendations, calling offices to verify that faxes have been received, following up with providers regarding the acceptance of recommendations, completing external vendor referrals, member calls, and documenting the outcome in the pharmacy documentation system. The Outreach Specialist will facilitate and contribute to projects within the department, across the company, and with external vendors. This will include assisting with data collection for the Pharmacotherapy Management Center (PMC), creating reports and other administrative duties as assigned.Positions in this function perform various dutie! s related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. Interpret! s physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system, verifies whether order is reimbursable. Dispenses any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals and injectibles; may compound medications. Consults with customers, patients and/or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions. Consultations may be telephonic or in person. Reviews and approves/denies requests for prescription prior authorizations. Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of worksite.Primary Responsibilities:
Enter prescriptions and verifying appropriate information.
Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues.
Process prescriptions (from intake to order completion).
Resolve custo! mer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided.
Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record.
Extensive work experience within own function.
Work is frequently completed without established procedures.
Works independently.
May act as a resource for others.
May coordinate other's activities.
Requirements:
HS Diploma/GED.
1+ year experience working in an Outbound Call Center environment.
Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge with computer proficeincy and Windows-based applications (Including MS Excel).
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to multi-task and self prioritize.
1+ year in a Customer Service role.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, ! long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor
Service ! center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity
