What You Will Do:
This role provides supply chain clinical leadership, coordination and collaboration with UMMS pharmacy clinical and management staff. Focused on maximizing quality and service while achieving standardization, cost control and performance improvement. Provides management with cost savings outcomes obtained from reports and the analysis of the information processed through the procurement system, as well as other pharmaceutical data resources.
1. Facilitates UMMS Pharmacy Clinical Team Meetings and reports pertinent contracting opportunities to supply management team and UMMS facilities.
2. Engages routinely with Pharmaceutical Contracting Team, relative to UMMS projects, vendor meetings, and cost savings initiatives.
3. Participates actively in committees/groups that manage pharmaceutical standardization and utilization within the system.
4. Ensures UMMS contract compliance, vendor compliance, price competitiveness, utilization and market trends.
5. Develops management cost reporting of expenses, corporate savings programs and recommendations for further “cost cutting†opportunities for UMMS Pharmacy Services.
6. Coordinates contract activity with UMMS facilities by developing relationships with the UMMS Pharmacy Clinical Personnel and Supplier Community.
What You Need to Be Successful:
1. Maryland Licensed Pharmacist required.
2. Minimum of three years Pharmacist experience.
3. A minimum of five years of experience in a progressively responsible professional purchasing, contracting, and/or hospital clinical environment preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to work with professional, multi-disciplinary teams as a group leader as well as a participant.
5. Highly effective pharmaceutical clinical knowledge necessary to train, motivate and monitor a staff working on complex issues.
6. Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
