Assists in formulation, prepara! tion, dispensing, delivery and storage of medications and pharmaceutical supplies under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Records and maintains records on various medications and pharmaceutical preparations. Communicates with pharmacists and nurses and medication preparation and delivery when necessary and appropriate. Education: HS Diploma or Equivalency Required. Knowledge: Knowledge of mission, organization and procedures; working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics; computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions; knowledge of third party plans and how they are processed; knowledge of drug names (generic and brand). Skills: Good communication skills; ability to work with computers for data entry and manipulation; ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment; ability to interact well with customer; ability to keep good records for all work performed; ability to answer the phone courteously; strong attention to detail; follow protocols or procedures pre! cisely; works within the limits of technical practice;; practi! ce self supervision, is a self started and uses sound judgement; practices teamwork within the pharmacy department.
Required: Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
Experience - 6 months required, 2 years preferred.
