The ideal candidate is someone with extensive experience in all aspects of the Pharmacy practice. We are looking for someone dedicated and able to lead t! he IS Cerner Pharmacy system. The person must have a background in IS Pharmacy, lead a build/implementation of a new system in a acute hospital setting, stable tenure within positions, diverse background, excellent leadership and communication skills.

Schedule: FT rotating schedule..flexibility a must.

Responsible for coordinating the Pharmacy Information System and other computer related hardware/software programs, along with related personnel guidance. Your responsibilities will also include the installation, testing and maintenance/upgrade of the Pharmacy System and

other departmental computer systems, training of Pharmacy personnel,day-to-day computer operation, and preparation assistance with administrative and clinical areas. In addition to the pharmacy system,you will be coordinating any computer projects that are requested, and will assist in software/hardware decisions for various pharmacy needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provides computer training for all Pharmacy Depart! ment personnel.
• Works closely with the Pharmacy leadership to develop operating policies and procedures relating to computer systems.
• Communicates system functionality with other hospital units and departments.
• Maintains Information Systems operation logs.
• Coordinates routine system back-up and maintenance with Information Systems.
• Recommends for budget additional hardware devices and software, along with system upgrades, to accommodate new areas of service.
• Participates in the vendor user group forum, as necessary and financially feasible, for product enhancement suggestions.
• Provides first-line diagnosis of system interruptions and coordinates systemwide software ad hardware problem resolutions with vendor and Information Systems.
• Continuously maintains/updates system files as needed to support and improve functionality.
• Perform staff pharmacist role as needed in compliance with staff pharmac! ist job description.
• Maintains contracts and subscriptions of all pharmacy IS.
• Participates in the hospital forum for departmental information system coordinators.
• Cooperates with Pharmacy administrative team to accomplish special assignments.
• Work with corporate pharmacy team in addressing system wide needs and issues
• Exhibits strong customer service skills in their day-to-day interactions.

Requirements:
Pharmacy license in the State of Maryland. Extensive experience in

all aspects of Pharmacy practice. Previous experience with Pharmacy

Information Systems (Cerner) and computer software (Specially Pyxis 3500 or 4000 ) and hardware. Formal training/certification in Information Systems and/or

Informatics preferred. Cerner build experience. The ability to work

well in a management team framework. Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who will be comfortable and profession! al in communicating with their customers. Knowledge of CCL and Multum -! not mandatory, but desired. The Pharmacist will be responsible for training users or delegating information to them. This could be done mostly via email or website updates.

Computer proficiency:
Familiar with any program language, data base creation using SQL and Microsoft office tools.

Knowledge of Microsoft Project Manager, Access or Visio
