The MSL will work primarily with commercialized therapies for multiple sclerosis, as well as developmental compound. This is an opportunity to develop expertise in the rapidly evolving area, and to call on and interact with some of the leading thought leaders in the world. The MSL will be given a great deal of independence in the! ir decision making, so we need someone who can think analytica! lly and thrive in a fairly autonomous environment.
Responsibilities:
The MSL will be responsible for the clinical education of Neurologists and hospital pharmacists, and although you will support the sales organization you will not be responsible for promotional or selling programs. The main duties include presenting clinical information for in-line products and emerging data for developmental drugs. You will be meeting with medical thought leaders in academic centers and teaching hospitals primarily, presenting information in one-on-one meetings and in public forums; a great deal of public speaking is required.
The MSL will also identify and develop advocates for the company for speaker programs and formulary decisions, providing them with literature searches, slides and other clinical information. And as our new compounds move through the clinical research process you will work closely with Principal Investigators to develop study protocols an! d advance their research interests. The geographic responsibility will include the leading academic centers and teaching hospitals in this small and manageable territory; the overnight travel for this position is 40-50% which includes attendance at annual meeting and national trade shows.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have an extensive clinical background with a strong understanding of current trends in the neuroscience arena. Other qualities include:
- MS degree or higher required
- 2+ years in a Medical Liaison role will be given first preference, especially those in a Neuroscience or Immunology-related fields.
- Those without MSL experience will be considered if they have been working with a top KOL in Multiple Sclerosis.
