General Summary: During the evening/nig! ht shift, interprets and evaluates physician orders in order to prepare and dispense appropriate medications to patients at Holy Cross Hospital. Manages drug therapy of patients. Reviews, accesses and maintains patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplication to provide a consistent quality of patient care and appropriate drug therapy. Provides information to physicians, nurses, and patients. Performance demonstrates efforts to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs and improve quality. Supervises the evening/night shift pharmacy staff in distributive functions and departmental operations under the direction of the pharmacy operations manager and director of pharmacy. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy. Able to communica! te effectively, speak, write and comprehend English. Able to w! ork cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff in order to meet departmental objectives. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Preferred: Knowledge of software: Word, Excel, Power Point; ASHP accredited residency, membership in ASHP and WMSHP.
