Job Description: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, provides prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals; compounds medications; and prepares special intravenous solutions. Fills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Experience: Six (6) months related hospital experience required with Pyxis-Rx MedStation and/or IV admixture strongly preferred. Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland. Skills: Excellent customer service skills and demonstration of courtesy and enthusiasm in all interpersonal and telephone interactions. Physical Requirements: Visual acuity; manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and orally communicate. Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.). Occasional prolonged standing and walking. Working Conditions: Normal working conditions.
