Small Biotech Exands
A small, high growth biotech company is doubling its field-based Medical Affairs team and! has a need for a Medical Science Liaison in your area. This dynamic drug company commercialized its first product, a lipid-lowering agent for FH patients, late last year. They specialize in the discovery and development of life-altering therapies for rare diseases. This is an opportunity to develop expertise in the rapidly evolving area and to call on and interact with some of the leading thought leaders in the world. In their “high-science†culture, the MSL will be given a great deal of independence in their decision making, so they need someone who can think analytically and thrive in an autonomous environment.
Responsibilities:
The MSL will be responsible for the clinical education of cardiologists and hospital pharmacists, and although you will support the sales organization you will not be responsible for promotional or selling programs. The main duties include presenting clinical information for in-line products and emerging data for developme! ntal drugs. You will be meeting with medical thought leaders i! n academic centers and teaching hospitals primarily, presenting information in one-on-one meetings and in public forums; a great deal of public speaking is required.
The MSL will also identify and develop advocates for the company for speaker programs and formulary decisions, providing them with literature searches, slides and other clinical information. The geographic responsibility will include the leading academic centers and teaching hospitals in regions outlined below; overnight travel for the position is estimated at 50%.
Territories:
1. Great Lakes: MI, OH, WV, W. PA, MD, DC
2. Mid Atlantic: VA, KY, TN, NC, SC
3. New York City: NYC, NJ, Philadelphia
4. Southeast: FL, GA, AL, MS, LA
Qualifications:
- Pharm.D, Ph.D., or M.D. degree preferred but not required
- Candidates with significant clinical experience in cardiology/lipid management will be given first priority.
- Candidates with 5+ Medical Science Liaison experience with a Pharmaceutical Company will be given first preference.
- Cultural fit with a small growing team

- Start-up or small biotech experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% overnight
