Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland or District of Columbia (DC).
EXPERIENCE: 1 year pharmacy experience, preferably in retail.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: Current Maryland or DC Pharmacist license, including Immunization/Vaccination Certification and registration with the board of pharmacy in that state or district.
SKILLS: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
