Job Summary:
The successful applicant will be expected to serve as a professional pharmacist in an out-patient pharmacy. The work typically involves selection, dispensing and preservation of drugs, medicines, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, and chemicals; compounding of prescriptions; advising on drug therapy and usage; performing administrative, consultative, or staff work concerning the administration of a pharmacy program.
Interview all patients requiring pharmaceutical care and create or update medication history profiles using Composite Health Care System program (CHCS or current system) or backup system.
Provide the service of selecting appropriate medications and dosage forms, determining if dosage is correct, filling and dispensing prescriptions and over the counter medications with CHCS (or backup system) and medical supplies in compliance with all federal, state, and OHESS guidelines and current standards of practice.
Maintain and order pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories as appropriate.
Drug therapy monitoring and communicating relevant findings and recommendations to other health-care professionals who are responsible for the patient's care.
Patient education and counseling regarding drug therapy and drug related disease prevention.
Monitoring, detecting, documenting, reporting, and managing: adverse drug reactions, pharmaceutical recalls, outdated pharmaceuticals; pharmacy errors, metrics, and other reports as needed to support the mission of OHESS.
Manage the pharmacy in the absence of the Chief Pharmacist and provide other duties as directed by the Chief Pharmacist, OHS, &/or OHESS when needed to support the mission of OHESS, following OHESS policies and current standards of practice.

Pharmacist Requirements for Pharmacist :
Qualifications
Degree must be in pharmacy from an approved pharmacy school which at the time of graduation was accredited by the American Council and Pharmaceutical Education or prior to the accrediting of schools by the Council, was a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. A valid state of Maryland pharmacist's license is required. Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 5 years of experience, or a Doctoral degree and 2 years of experience. Degree must be in pharmacy. Experience in the pharmacy area of ambulatory care, outpatient care, or community practice. Three years of experience as the supervisor or pharmacist in charge (or chief pharmacist) is preferred. Experience in a smoking cessation program preferred. Current, valid, Registered Pharmacist license in the state of Maryland. The successful candidate should possess superb customer service and organizational skills, basic computer skills, polished written and verbal communication skills, pharmacy experience, and knowledge of process management. The selected candidate must be mature, poised, efficient and able to handle diversified tasks simultaneously. The candidate should also have pharmacy experience in the areas of ambulatory care, outpatient care, or community practice. The ideal candidate must be able to hold a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with NSA, which requires successful completion of a polygraph and special background investigation Benefits
