Participates in a pharmaceutical department that is directed and staffed by professionally competent and legally qualified pharmacists. Prepares or! al, liquid and solid medication in unit-dose packaging for long-term care, under the supervision of the long-term care pharmacist. In some instances, bulk items, compounds, nutrition solutions, chemotherapy and other drugs can be prepared by the technician. In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and processing of supply and equipment orders. Duties: Preparation of oral solids, liquid medications in unit-dose and bulk packaging. Generates labels and worksheets necessary for production and preparation of compounded products. Assists in procuring pharmaceuticals and ancillary supplies for long-term care patients in accordance with the dispensing order (pick list) under the supervision of a pharmacist. Proper packaging and labeling of products and subsequent storage prior to shipment to the patient. Assists with daily, weekly and monthly Quality Assurance activities, (i.e. outdated drug log, r! efrigerator temperature record form, etc.). Qualifications:
Pharmacy experience preferred, but not required
