The University of Maryland, Founding Campus located in Baltimore, Maryland seeks a Specialist for its Work/Life Strategies program to join the Human! Resource Services (HRS) Benefits team.
The University
Founded in 1807, the University is comprised of a 61 acre research and technology complex that encompasses 62 buildings in West Baltimore near the Inner Harbor. It remains Maryland's only public academic health, human services, and law center with seven professional and graduate schools to train the majority of the state's nurses, physicians, dentists, lawyers, social workers, and pharmacists.
The Position
This position will be responsible for the communication and administration of work/life strategies to include employee assistance programs (EAP), wellness, and related human resources programs.
Responsibilities include:
Implement, administer, and coordinate institution-specific programs such as work/life strategies, EAP, wellness, and other related benefits programs, as assigned.
Assist in the development of proposed work life and wellness programs for t! he UMB campus.
Identify trend analysis for work/life ! and wellness programs and provide recommendations for current and future campus programs.
Collaborate and build partnerships with internal and external parties.
Communicate information regarding campus benefits and work/life programs to large diverse audiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Two (2) years of work life/wellness, benefits, human resources, or related experience
Human Resources certification preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to present and facilitate workshops and campus events
Experience with interpreting and applying state and federal regulations regarding employee benefit health, work/life and wellness programs.
Highly skilled in use of personal computer software, such as Microsoft Office.
